MIKE AND JESS' TRAVEL DIARY

After sleeping for about 6 hours, we are all picked up by our driver. Some of their work friends invited us to go out for drinking and karaoke at a local bar. It’s 8AM for me but 6PM for the rest of them. I’ve never drank at 8am but I guessed if I was going to for the first time, the Philippines is the best place to. They ordered about twenty beers to start and a ton of food-fried pork, fried chicken, fried intestines. The pork and chicken were delicious. No intestines for me. The singing started and we took that as our cue to begin drinking. The work friends are so nice, funny, and plenty encouraging, so after a few beers, we are joining in on the singing…if you could call it that. We all let loose and had a great time, even if it was at the expense of our pride. After hours of singing and drinking, we headed back to the hotel to nap before we are supposed to go out again to meet other friends at a club.

The local beer did a number on all of us. We were a bit hung over, but didn’t want to leave our other plans hanging. We got ready again, though decided we would make it a bit more of a relaxing night and went to Heckle and Jeckle again, forgoing the club. We ordered some food, but we were very tired and not great company so we said goodnight to the work friends and let them enjoy a faster paced night as we went back to the hotel to sleep again.
