About our trip to Seattle, Vancouver, and our Cruise to Alaska
We went on this trip with Jess’ Mom and Stepdad. We started in Seattle, took a train to Vancouver, boarded the ship that ported in Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan. We ended our trip again visiting Vancouver and a half day in Seattle. We snorkeled, fished, walked on a glacier, hiked in the Yukon and biked in Vancouver. It was a full itinerary!
When: April and June 2013 Why: We wanted to see the glaciers in Alaska. How Long: 12 days Most surprised us: We really enjoyed Juneau and would love to visit again. Most disappointed us: We later learned that cruises are not our preferred travel style for many reasons. Each of the ports felt like they existed only for tourists on cruise ships, so getting out of the port town was a must. Would we do it again: We really enjoyed ourselves and have incredible memories form the trip, but we would not do a cruise again. We would visit Vancouver, the Yukon, and Juneau again, however. Would we recommend it: To a cruise lover, yes! The parents made sure our itinerary included Glacier Bay, which was really beautiful – and sad.
