We slept in a bit and headed out for some pastries and coffee for breakfast. We stopped in to a cute cupcake shop and a brunch cafe for milkshakes and coffee. A healthy breakfast!
After a bit of a walking around and a few hours of relaxing at the room, we met up with our friend for lunch. The restaurant options are slim because of Holy Week, but a Middle Eastern restaurant with good reviews was open so we headed there. We got hummus, which was really fantastic. The flavor was perfect and the texture was really creamy. The pita was freshly baked. Mike and I split an Iranian specialty stew called Gorma Sabzi. It was rich and delicious with a ton of fresh herbs cooked down in a brown liquid with kidney beans and tender beef. This place was really special.
We wandered around and hung out a bit for the day, then headed back up to get some sleep since we were all a bit short on zzz’s from the strange schedules. We slept most of the late afternoon away and I snuck down to the pool to dip my feet in and read until the sun went down.
I slept through the rest of the evening and skipped dinner while Mike went out and got some soup dumplings before heading to work.
